Here comes another political post.  Gird your loins friends. As you are well aware the federal PC party is looking for a new leader. They said, "see you later loser" to Erin O'Toole months ago. According to the die-hards in his party, he was too liberal when he spoke on acceptance and how the party itself needs to move forward (and maybe a little scooch left) if it wanted to be a contender for becoming Canada's top party.  That was far too much and he was catapulted out. I bet he was hurt at the time but is now super relieved that he isn't the one that needs to herd all of the cats that are currently running to be the leader.  Let's start with Jean Charest. He seems to be the safe choice. He is the best choice to work on stopping the growing divide in our country. He acknowledges that the country can't continue this way if we ever want to work together. He comes with some issues though. He has been in the leader's seat before. In 1993 he was the leade...

This Again

I read a funny thing on Twitter this morning.  The author of the tweet asked if we had tried having a victory party for the every weekend still protesters. If we have banners and cover them in confetti. If we tell them that they won, will they go away?  It's a funny line about a pretty serious conversation. They are blocking traffic, throwing smoke bombs, selling white supremacist logoed gear, and they even have a pizza tent set up. The people who live and work in these areas are suffering the worst. Many feel unsafe in their own places, and no one seems to care. Small business owners are losing money as customers either can't physically get to them or don't want to engage with the potential powder keg that is go...

Do you know who you're voting for?

Ok, guys, I am fired up again.  What?  Over another election. I know! You are shocked. Here is what happened today.  I was doing the thing where you research the people you are going to vote for to make sure that they represent you. As I was bopping through my research I realized that as a part of this municipal election there is more than just a new mayor on the line. This election in this city is jam-packed this time around.  Not only are we voting for mayor, but we are also voting on whether fluoride should be reintroduced to our drinking water, equalization payments, and senate.  I love to vote. And here is the thing with this specific election. I have a bone to pick with the senate election part. Generally, Senate candidates are recommended by an independent board to the Prime Minister, who then passes their names onto the Governer General for an appointment. Our current government though has decided that instead of following this path they will run...
